Russia And Bulgaria To Sign New Agreement On Visa Issues At End Of 2001

Russian and Bulgarian authorities are going to sign a new visa agreement before the end of this year, Bulgarian Ambassador to Russia Ilian Vasilyev announced at a press conference today. He noted that the second round of negotiations on this issue was set for the beginning of October but it may be postponed. In addition, the ambassador stressed that Bulgaria is going to preserve all privileges for Russian citizens coming to Bulgaria because its authorities are not going to make profit from the introduction of visa observance policies between the two countries. Vasilyev believes these policies will not make relations between Russia and Bulgaria more complicated. It is worth mentioning that Bulgaria introduced visa observance policies due to its plans to joint the European Union.
