Andrey Lubensky: Ukrainian Mail takes security measures

In connection with the large amount of information received from the United States of America about the anthrax mail incidents, the Ukrainian mail company Ukrpochta created a schedule of actions for extreme situations. According to this plan, the mail workers will be provided with the required individual means of protection. If some suspicious correspondence is found, the Ukrainian Security Service will be notified about it immediately.

The Ukrainian Financial Server reported that the population is recommended to be extremely cautious with suspicious mail: letters with no return address, mail from strangers marked as “personal," and the like. The number of the suspicious envelopes withdrawn in Ukraine is still growing, and now their figure is over 40. Many of them had just detergent inside, the content of the rest is still not known. On Wednesday, mail terror hit Ukraine’s Ministry for Justice. A letter was addressed to the minister and had slightly gray powder inside. Interfax-Ukraine stated that the powder is now being examined by “competent authorities.”
