Orel: Gubernatorial Poll Oversteps Validity Threshold

A gubernatorial election in the Orel Region (the Central federal district of Russia) will be valid as a 25-percent threshold turnout was jumped by 1:00 p.m., Moscow time, with 30 percent. The regional election commission expects an impressive 60 percent by polling station closing time. Four are running - incumbent Yegor Stroyev, brickworks manager Stanislav Mats, university professor Vladimir Zyabkin and Vasily Molokanov, regional statistical board director.
