International Conference Police And Human Rights In Krasnoyarsk

A three-day International Conference, Police and Human Rights, has taken place in Krasnoyarsk (Eastern Siberia) with the participation of experts from the Council of Europe (CE). The CE experts have carried out their pilot project in Krasnoyarsk. Later, such conferences will be held practically in all regions of Russia. The participants in the conference discussed issues of observing the International Covenant on Human Rights by stuff-members of law-enforcement bodies and also expressed their opinions on impermissibility of tortures, and also on people's right to defence and the secrecy of correspondence.
