The organisational committee for preparing and conducting an APEC international investment forum has been set up in Vladivostok, a major port and industrial centre in the Russian Far East. The forum is due to be held here next September. It will be the first time that Russia will receive participants in one of the most authoritative international organizations. The decision to hold the forum in Vladivostok was adopted last November during the APEC summit in Brunei. Over 2,500 businessman, bankers, and academic economists from 21 countries are due to attend the forum.
