The present structure of the military-industrial complex is "still archaic and does not meet modern military and political requirements", Russian President Vladimir Putin said. Opening the joint meeting of the State Council presidium and the Russian Security Council, the President stressed, "Today we face new threats, we live and work under such conditions which demand higher reliability of the national defence." The joint meeting focused on the problems of the military-industrial complex.
