No Anthrax Epidemic For Moscow, Reassures Headdoctor

There is no chance for an anthrax epidemic in Moscow, says Nikolai Filatov, chief city sanitary expert. An approximate 300 people have applied to test suspicious mail all over Russia for today. Moscow accounts for a mere thirty--all practical jokes. There was chalk, washing powder and suchlike in the sinister envelopes. The municipal sanitary and epidemic service will not give up mail checks, nevertheless, says Dr. Filatov. The city has a sufficient stock of antiseptics and antibiotics to face biological warfare. Moscow had its two latest anthrax cases in 1975 and 1989. The disease was contacted outside the city and diagnosed in due time in both instances.
