Russian Parliament Ratifies Agreement On Military Cooperation With Former Soviet Republics

At its Wednesday session the Federation Council, upper parliamentary house, unanimously ratified the Agreement on key principles of military-technical cooperation between states, parties to the Collective Security Treaty. Vadim Gustov, chairman of the upper house committee for CIS affairs, has explained that the agreement's objective is to implement provisions of the Collective Security Treaty in military-technical cooperation of the states, parties to the treaty. The agreement stipulates a special procedure, on preferential terms, of military product deliveries in the interests of military formations detached to the multilateral forces and collective security regions. Gustov stressed that military products would be delivered on terms similar to own armed forces.
