Russia And Moldova To Set Up Wine, Tobacco Joint Venture

In order to repay debts for Russian natural gas supplies Moldova and Russia are going to establish a joint venture to produce wine and process tobacco. On Thursday RIA Novosti was told at the Russian Agricultural Ministry that preliminary agreement was reached during the visit of a ministerial delegation to Cisinau. The visit was over on Wednesday. According to specialists, the joint venture will be established on the basis of Moldovan enterprises in the wine making and tobacco industries. Supposedly, the Russian side will get 51 percent and the Moldovan side 49 percent of the joint venture's shares.
