Russia May Recover About USD 30 Billion From Debtor Countries

Russia may recover about USD 30 billion from debtor- countries, Andrei Kostin, Vneshekonombank chairman, stated. According to him, this amount can be recovered by using schemes of the Paris Club of creditor nations. The total amount of debt of the Paris Club member-countries to Russia accounts for about USD 103 billion and as of today almost USD 250 million has been paid out. Yemen, Mozambique, Vietnam and Ethiopia are paying their debts to Russia. "The receipts will diminish in the future. This is connected, first of all, with the writing off debts of the poorest countries," Kostin said. The debt of member-countries of the Commonwealth of Independent State to Russia amounts to about USD 3.5 billion. The Paris Club starts regulating the issue, the Vneshekonombank chairman noted.
