20 Residential Buildings Flooded In Cyclone In St. Petersburg

During the night of November 16, 20 residential buildings in St. Petersburg were flooded as a result of a cyclone. No one was killed or injured. The cyclone was accompanied by strong snowfalls with gusting southwestly and westly winds blowing at speeds of between 19-24 metres per second, and sharp changes in temperature. Water levels in the mouth of the Neva River, on the shores of the Gulf of Finland, and in Nevskaya Guba rose two metres higher than usual levels. On the morning of November 16, the water level on the Neva was 90 centimetres higher than usual height.
