Gazprom Informs Police About SIBUR Activities

The Russian gas giant Gazprom has been informing the police about activities of the SIBUR petrochemical company recently. According to this information, SIBUR infringed damage to shareholders and creditors by selling the assets of its subsidiaries. At present, SIBUR owns a large debt to Gazprom and, according to a decision of Gazprom's board of directors, this debt should be guaranteed by liquid assets of the petrochemical company. The press service of Gazprom reported that the company's economic security service passed documents concerning activities of SIBUR to the General Prosecutor's Office. The press service stressed that Gazprom will continue acting according to decisions of its board of directors, decisions that provide for protection of the company's interests, in the future as long as it owns a controlling stake in SIBUR.
