Starting Prices For Fishing Quotas Rocket At Auction Today
Today at a fishing quota auction held at the European-Asian Exchange, the starting price of RUR1.85m (about $60,675) for the first lot on herring increased by more than 3.5 times. The ultimate price of this lot amounted to RUR6.9m (about $226.303) with 111 fishing companies taking part in today's auction. The allocation of fishing quotas was made only among Russian companies. The auction consisted of 344 lots with a total starting price of RUR630.7m (about $20.7m).
