The first automatic telephone station was put back into operation in the Chechen capital Grozny on Wednesday. A RIA Novosti correspondent reports that it serves 2,000 telephone numbers. The station also has a capacity to provide 700 long-distance channels. Head of the Chechen government Stanislav Ilyasov took part in the station's opening ceremony.
