Journalists attacked on in Ukraine

The thief, who nearly broke up Oleg Lyashko’s registration as a candidate for the position of a deputy (Oleg Lyashko is the editor-in-chief of the opposition newspaper Svoboda), was nabbed in Kiev. The guy was dressed in the uniform of the military school, he quickly grabbed the money from Lyashko’s hands, when the editor was holding it as the registration pawn. The editor was personally chasing the thief, but he escaped. So there was nothing left, but to collect the money again.

For the time being it is not known, if the detained guy is really a military cadet, nothing is known about the motives of his actions; a common robbery is not ruled out.

Another incident, which happened in the town of Berdyansk, the Zaporozhye region of Ukraine, can hardly be referred to as a common act of stealing. Editor-in-chief of the Berdyansk Delovoy newspaper, Tatiana Goryacheva was attacked on. An unidentified person splashed the hydrochloric acid out in her face near the building, where she lived. The woman had her face skin and eyes burnt. As Korrespondent.Net informed with reference to the Ukrainian association of press, the editorial office of the newspaper connected that attack with Goryacheva’s professional activity as a journalist. Another chief of this newspaper has recently had a car accident and was seriously injured.
