China's Joining Wto Not To Harm Russian-chinese Economic Relations

China's official membership in the World Trade Organisation will not harm Russian-Chinese economic relations, Chinese State Council Premier Zhu Rongji told State Duma Speaker Gennady Seleznyov, currently on an official visit to Beijing, on Tuesday. According to the Premier, the volume of the Russian-Chinese turnover should be increased in order to overstep the 2001 level of 10 billion dollars. The problems of China's obligations to the WTO are solvable, Zhu Rongji stressed. Speaking about the prospects for the development of Russian-Chinese economic relations, the Chinese State Council Premier expressed his satisfaction with the work of the Russian-Chinese intergovernmental commission. According to Zhu Rongji, a practical agreement on the construction of a pipeline from Russia to China has been achieved within the framework of the commission. Gennady Seleznyov reminded Zhu Rongji of the coming construction of a large Chinese trade centre in Moscow. Russian businessmen participating in the implementation of the programme on improving living conditions in China's West are invited in China.
