Iraq: World would be better without Bush

DUBAI, Dec 24 (AFP) - The world will be a better place without George Bush, an Iraqi newspaper said Monday, in riposte to the US president's national security adviser who said the world would live better without Saddam Hussein. "The world will definitely be a better place without Bush, (Vice-President Dick) Cheney, (Defence Secretary Donald) Rumsfeld and their friends," said the ruling Baath party daily Ath-Thawra.

It went on to brand Bush a "Zionist, used by the Jews as a toy."

National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice and former secretary of state Henry Kissinger were all part of a "corrupt elite", the daily said.

"The Jews among these advisers are at the service of the Zionist entity and international Zionism and not of the United States," Ath-Thawra added, blaming the advisers for global terrorism.

"The world and Iraq will live better without (Iraqi President) Saddam Hussein in power," Rice said in an interview published Thursday by Al-Hayat Arabic daily.

The Bush administration has an eye on Iraq as a possible next target in the war on terrorism.
