Japanese Consul-general In Khabarovsk Sends Note Of Thanks To Local Police

Yuichi Kusumoto, the Japanese Consul-General in Khabarovsk, sent on Friday a note of thanks to the officers of the 3rd Police Department of Khabarovsk. According to Lieutenant-Colonel Vadim Reshetnyak, the Chief Inspector on Special Assignments of the press service of the Khbarovsk regional interior affairs department, the Japanese diplomat has thanked policemen for arresting a group of people who have been destroying tomb plaques made of non-ferrous metals on the Japanese cemetery. This is the third case of vandalism prevented by police officers on local cemeteries. Several days ago, policemen detained two groups of unemployed persons who were breaking gravestones in order to get elements of non-ferrous metals. These cases are currently being investigated.
