The law about extra taxes approved in Mexico

The House of deputies has recently approved the bill about the extra taxes; the first reading of the bill caused a wild discussion and protests – it goes about imposing taxes on medicines, some foodstuffs, books and payment for private colleges and universities. After such a heavy resistance both from the population and the producers of the foodstuffs, from the deputies, the cabinet of ministers decided to change the list of the foodstuffs, which was offered for taxation. The consumers of the tobacco and alcohol production will now have to pay more. The tax for the use of satellite mobile communication gained 10% - it will now make up 37%. The preceded payment card will be the only exception. Thus, the number of the Mexicans, who have the cell phones – 19 million people (19% of the entire population) - may soon reduce a lot, and the cellular companies will suffer big losses.
