First European-Pacific Congress Devoted to Globalisation to Be Held in Russia

The first European-Pacific Congress "Globalisation: Interaction of Economies, Cultures, Technologies and Nature" will be held late in September in Vladivostok (the administrative centre of the Maritime Territory; the Russian Far East), reported the press centre of the city's administration on Thursday.

The aim of the Congress is to develop a dialogue between representatives of European and Asia-Pacific countries, to determine the main directions of a mutually advantageous cooperation between Russia and foreign states in the spheres of economy, culture, technologies and nature.

Conferences, round table discussions, plenary sessions in the main sections: "Economy", "Technologies", "Nature", and "Culture" will be held within the framework of the Congress.

The international conference of writers Ecology and Word has been also included in the programme, which will be the beginning of the work of the international committee with the same name in Vladivostok.

Taking part in the Congress will be prominent political and public figures, scientists, literary workers, journalists, businessmen from the countries of Europe and Asia-Pacific region. Applications have been already made by representatives of Austria, Pakistan, Tajikistan, the press centre of the Vladivostok administration reported.

A "programme of bilateral meetings" will be organised within the framework of the Congress which will allow the participants to efficiently realise specific cooperation projects.
