Rosaviakosmos, HP and Scan to set up data storage system

The Space Operations Center of the Russian Aviation and Space Agency (Rosaviakosmos), Hewlett-Packard and Scan announced a project of creating an information and processing complex designated for the processing and storage of different kinds of information based on the HP hardware, the press service of the Space Operations Center reported to RosBusinessConsulting. The total cost of the project is $1.3m. The information and processing center will be designed for the centralized collection, registration, processing, long-term storage and delivery of data resulting from national and international programs of scientific and applicable researches.

Within the framework of the project, the Space Operations Center will obtain an array of tools for the establishment of a system for long-term storage of digital, audio and video information coming to the center from different sources. Hewlett Packard will provide consulting services during the project implementation. Scan that will participate in the development and implementation of the center's information projects will supply Hewlett Packard hardware and integration services.
