GAZ automobile maker resumes production

The GAZ automobile maker has resumed car production today, the company's press service reported to RBC. The plant operates in two shifts four days a week. Friday will be a day-off for the next few weeks.

According to GAZ President Nikolay Pugin, car production is likely to be reduced in 2003.

It is worth mentioning that GAZ stopped car production on December 23, 2002. While the car assembly line was stopped, the company prepared the updated model GAZ-3110 Volga for production. In 2002, the plant produced 65,648 cars.
