Central Bank posts dynamics of balances at correspondent accounts

Liquidity of domestic banks improved significantly in December 2002, the department for external and internal relations of the Russian Central Bank reported. The balances at correspondent accounts of Russian commercial banks fluctuated between 84bn and 170bn rubles (about $2.64bn to $5.35bn at the current exchange rate) last December. The average daily balances increased to 110.6bn rubles ($3.48bn) compared to 89.4bn rubles ($2.81bn) in November 2002.
