Russia's Fishermen Caught 11% Less Fish and Sea Products, Year-on-Year, in 2002

In 2002, Russia's fishing companies' catches decreased 10.8% year-on-year to 3,242,600 tonnes. This is according to the Centre of Information and Analysis of Russia's State Piscatorial Committee.

Over the year 2002, Russia's fish processing companies produced 2,803,800 tonnes of marketable products (2,995,800 tonnes in 2001), 480,200,000 cans of canned fish and sea foods (489,200,000 cans in 2001), and 84,300 tonnes of fish-based feeds (83,900 tonnes in 2001). The results of the year 2002 will be finalized at a staff meeting of the State Piscatorial Committee in February this year.
