World Handball Championship - 20 January, 2003 - News

Russia got off to a great start in the World handball Championships, defeating Hungary 31-30 in a thrilling encounter which saw handball at its best in an end-to-end contest between two attacking geniuses. At half time, Russia led 15-14.

The teams are organised in four groups. Group A: Tunisia, Kuwait, Yugoslavia, Poland, Spain, Morocco Group B: Germany, Qatar, Iceland, Australia, Portugal, Greenland Group C: Russia, Hungary, Croatia, Argentina, France, Saudi Arabia Group D: Algeria, Brazil, Sweden, Egypt, Denmark, Slovenia
