International Snow, Ice Sculpture to Be Held in Perm, in February

The 9th 'Snow, Ice, and Fire' international festival of snow and ice sculpture will take place in the city of Perm from 10 through 16 February this year. According to the press service of the administration of Perm, the teams of Great Britain, India, Mexico, the Netherlands, the US, Czechia, and Switzerland, the winners of Russian and international festivals are expected to take part. For the first time, the festival will be attended by a team from Louisville, Perm's sister city. Dick Brickley, President of Alaska's World Ice Art Championship, is also likely to attend. Russia will be represented by the teams of Arkhangelsk, Yekaterinburg, Izhevsk, Moscow, Kargopol, Krasnoyarsk, Kungur, Nizhny Tagil, Novosibirsk, Perm, Ryazan, St. Petersburg, Ufa, and Cheboksary. Besides professionals, the participants will include children from the orphanages of Perm, Kungur, and Krasnoyarsk.

The festival of snow and ice sculpture will be the first among the festive events held in the commemoration of the 280th anniversary of the city of Perm. The festival is organised by the city's Gorky children's park and the city administration.
