The spring session of the Russian State Duma has opened in Moscow.
The session will run to late June. During this period the lower house deputies will consider about 500 draft laws, with 100 bills being priorities. They will continue working on the creation of the legislative basis of the reforms under way in the country now. Particularly, the deputies will discuss presidential bills on a municipal reform, government bills on energy and housing and communal services reforms.
The deputies will discuss a number of bills on the military reform. They are expected to pass bills on the tax and pension legislation. The session programme includes the discussion of the new wording of the Russian Tax Code.
A number of draft laws on the further liberalisation of the Russian currency market will be discussed at the session.
The deputies will consider the ratification of the Russo-US treaty on the strategic offensive reduction, other international treaties will be ratified.
