State Duma to Consider Bills on Power Industry Reforms in February

The State Duma, the lower chamber of the Russian parliament, will consider the package of laws on the power industry reform in the second reading, most probably, in February, the Duma's first deputy speaker, Lyubov Sliska, told journalists on Tuesday.

The Duma has received new proposals from the government concerning the issues to be announced at the State Duma Council's session on January 21st, she said. Moreover, in February the deputies intend to consider the bills introduced by the President on reforming the structure of local self-government bodies and legislative and executive branches in the constituent members of Russia, Sliska pointed out.

On the whole, during its spring session the Duma intends to consider over 500 bills, 100 out of which are of top priority.

At its plenary session on Wednesday the Duma is to approve a draft program of its legislative work during the spring session.
