Minister of Agriculture: Next Year's Grain Harvest May Be Lost to Frosts

Speaking yesterday at a press conference, Alexei Gordeyev, Russia's Minister of Agriculture said next year's grain harvest may be partially lost to frosts, which Russia must get ready for.

According to the minister, the condition of winter grades of wheat is critical. 'We have not had temperatures like we have now for 25 years', he said. The Krasnodar territory will not have enough winter grade wheat this year, following profuse rains. 'Spring field work', the minister said, 'is expected to be hard.'
