RAO UES forecasts 2003 exports

The volume of electrical energy exports under RAO URS contracts to foreign countries beyond the CIS, planned for 2003, will be over 23 billion kilowatt per hour. As the RAO UES media department reported to RBC, these figures were mentioned at today's meeting of the board of directors of Russia's energy grid. Another 3 billion kilowatt per hour of electrical energy are to be supplied to Belarus and Poland.

The department pointed out that in 2003, the CIS countries would be RAO UES's major customers. The largest amount of energy will be supplied to Belarus. Additionally, considerable volume of electrical energy will be exported to Kazakhstan. It is also planned to increase energy supplies to Azerbaijan, Moldova and Georgia. As for foreign countries beyond the CIS, Finland has remained RAO UES's largest sales market.

As it was previously reported, the energy holding is planning to reach 17.89 billion kilowatt per hour in 2002 exports.
