The Russian advertising market may amount to $5bn by 2005, which is 2.5 times higher than in 2002, Eduard Sagalayev, the President of the National Association of TV and Radio Broadcasters, said in an interview with RBC. This forecast will come true, if the consumer market continues developing further with the expected dynamics and economic stability remains, he stressed.
Sagalayev believes that the share of social advertising will be advancing on the market. At present in Russia it amounts to about $20m (1 percent of the total market volume), according to different estimations.
As reported earlier, the Russian advertising market was $1.75bn last year, compared to $1.7bn in 1997, before the 1998 financial crisis.
