First Volga Cars for Iraq Assembled at Gorky Automobile Plant

The first GAZ-3110 Volga passenger cars intended for Iraq have been assembled at the Gorky Automobile Plant in Nizhny Novgorod. According to the plant's press service, a total of 5,000 such cars are supposed to be exported to that country.

Export models are different as to their optional equipment. The cars intended for Iraq will all have climate control, higher effectiveness engine cooling systems, power windows, and door lock blocking devices. These cars have been adapted for tropical climate and can function in high-smog environment. Several original parts have been designed purposely for this version. Both the body and chassis will be anti-rust coated so they can easier take the trip to their destination.

A contract with the Ministry of Trade of Iraq for the supply of Volga cars was signed by the plant in September last year.
