Aeroflot reports 9M2002 results

The Board of Directors of Aeroflot, the largest Russian airline, said the results of the company's performance in January-September 2002 were "positive", the press service of the corporation reported to RosBusinessConsulting. Additionally, the company's Board of Directors considered the airline's 2003 budget on the first reading. The second reading of the budget along with all amendments will be held on January 14, 2002.

Aeroflot's net profit was RUR1.37bn (around $43m) in January-September 2002, twice as much as the figure reported in the same period last year (RUR540m or around $17m). The airline's pre-tax profit was RUR2.067bn (around $64.89m) (against RUR554m or $17.4m in 2001). The company's income was RUR32.65bn (around $102.5m) in January-September 2002, up 7 percent from the figure reported in the same period last year (RUR30.62bn or around $96.13m). In 2002 the company is planning to earn a net profit of $75m and transport 5.5m passengers.
