Russia's first chemical weapons elimination facility commissioned

Russia's first chemical weapons elimination facility has been commissioned. It was built with international financial assistance in the village of Gorny /Saratov region, Central Russia/.

In accordance with the data of the Federal Information Center on Elimination of Chemical Weapons, the commissioning of the enterprise took place on Thursday, and by the early hours of Friday 800 kg of a toxic agent of the yperite type were eliminated.

The process of destroying combat toxic agents is taking place under the supervision of International Chemical Weapon Ban Organization experts.
