Duma passes bill on automated election system

At today's session the lower house of the Russian parliament has adopted the bill on the state automated system Vybory on the third and final reading. According to the document, the use of this system is one of the guarantees for providing reliable, operative and full information about elections and referendums.

The bill regulates procedures of using this system, questions concerning the system's development, provision of security for information, which is stored in the system, and control over the use of this information. According to the Central Election Commission, informational resources of the Vybory system contain information of a private character on about 108m Russians.

The bill was supported by 246 deputies with 94 against and no abstention.
