Russian training sailing-ship "Nadezhda" to leave Vladivostok for round-the-world cruise

In the beginning of the year 2003, Russian training sailing-ship "Nadezhda" will leave the port of Vladivostok for a round-the-world trip.

The press-service of the Admiral Nevelsky Naval State University, to which the sailing-ship belongs, reported that about 100 cadets would leave for the trip on board the vessel.

The sailing-ship is scheduled to dock in many sea ports of the world in the course of its round-the-world trip. In May next year, the crew of the vessel and the cadets will arrive to Saint Petersburg, where they will participate in the 300th anniversary celebrations of the Northern Capital.

Exactly 200 years ago, Russian sailors headed by Ivan Kruzenshtern and Yury Lisyansky for the first time in history went around the world onboard of sailing-ships "Nadezhda" and "Neva".
