Duma postpones consideration of energy bills

The State Duma Council has decided to postpone the consideration of bills on reforming the electrical energy sector on the second reading, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Lyubov Sliska declared after a meeting of the Council. According to her, the initiative to reschedule the consideration of bills on restructuring RAO UES belongs to centrist factions.

Sliska pointed out that on December 23 the Council would again consider the possibility of discussing six energy bills on the second reading. "We believe it is necessary to consider all recommendations of participants of the energy forum, which is to take place in Moscow on December 18", she stressed. She thinks these energy bills are likely to be discussed on the second reading only in 2003.
