Russia and the USA intend to develop cooperation in machine-building and new technologies, Russian Vice-Premier and Agriculture Minister Alexey Gordeyev told the press after his negotiations with Alan P. Larson, US Under Secretary of State for Economic, Business and Agricultural Affairs.
According to Gordeyev, over the past two years Russo-American cooperation in agriculture was in recess. However, there are all prerequisites now for switching off from the fight for markets to letting US producers fill some niches in Russian agricultural markets. In particular, Gordeyev specified, he meant deliveries to Russia of US new technologies, equipment, as well as setting up joint ventures in processing and machine-building. In addition, he said, it is necessary to enhance cooperation in bio-technologies.
The Russian Vice-Premier said that there were plans to hold an exhibition in the US to display Russian agricultural produce.
