Surgutneftegaz produced 44.824m tons of oil in the first 11 months of this year, which was 11.7 percent higher than in the corresponding period of last year, the press service of the company reported. Its gas production amounted to 12.079bn cubic meters in the reported period, which was 19.6 percent higher than in the first 11 months of 2002.

Some 838 new wells were put into operation in the period from January to November 2002, compared to 769 new wells in the corresponding period of last year.
