Kazakhstan to invest $52bn in oil industry

Some $11bn are planned to be invested in the Kazakhstani oil producing industry through 2005, some $20bn in the period from 2006 to 2010 and $21bn in the period from 2011 to 2015, Kazakhstani Energy Minister Vladimir Shkolnik declared in the Kazakstani parliament on December 9.

He pointed out that the oil production in 2015 is planned to be 150m tons, which is 3m barrels per day. This year the Kazakhstani oil production is forecasted at the level of 47m tons, compared to 40m tons last year.

In the period from 2003 to 2015, some $293m will be invested in the uranium production, the press service of the parliament told RBC. Investments in the atomic industry will be some $2bn. On the whole, some $74bn are to be invested in the fuel and energy sector until 2015.
