Russia to have a single booze control and monitoring body

Establishment of a single federal control and monitoring body in the production and sale of alcoholic products will be arranged during an administrative reform, the RIA Novosti correspondent quotes Russian Vice Premier and Agricultural Minister Alexei Gordeyev as saying after a session of the governmental commission for regulating the alcoholic market. Gordeyev is in charge of the commission.

Materials on the creation of a single body will be passed to the state commission preparing the administrative reform, he said. And noted that the governmental commission he heads is currently controlling and monitoring the production and sale of alcoholic products.

At the Wednesday session the commission also considered the development of a state policy concept towards better preparation of bills on the production and sale of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and spirit-based products. All interested parties will participate in developing the concept.
