Russia's Prime Minister to Discuss Trade Cooperation Prospects with Germany's Federal Chancellor

Today, Mikhail Kasyanov, Russia's Prime Minister, is heading for Germany for a two-day-long working visit. According to Russia's Government's Department of Information, the principal objective of Mr. Kasyanov's visit is a meeting with Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder to discuss the present condition and further development of trade cooperation between the two countries.

In Berlin, Mr. Kasyanov will attend a forum entitled 'The Further Ways of the Process of Transformation in Eastern Europe' to discuss issues pertaining to political stability, the development of civic societies, economic situation in Eastern Europe and the prospect of East-European countries joining the European Union and World Trade Organisation. Also, the Prime Minister is going to attend a ceremonial meeting in the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Eastern Committee for German Economy.
