Italian Prime Minister Sings Christmas Serenades for Charity

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is going to give the Italian people special gift this coming Christmas: a compact disk with 14 Christmas songs sung by the prime minister.

In fact, this disk is not a big surprise for Italians at all. The prime minister, who currently performs the role of a singing Santa Klaus, never made it a secret that when he was very young, he sang to passengers on cruise liners. So, many years later, Berlusconi decided to revive a bit of the past. Only a few songs on the disk, including the popular “Bella, Bella,” are in Italian. The remaining Christmas serenades are in French and English.

The Italian prime minister says the new disk isn’t an election trick at all; it’s just an attempt to draw people’s attention to politics. Silvio Berlusconi promises that the sales of the disc will be donated to charities.
