Vladimir Putin holding session with defense ministry's heads

On Tuesday Russian President Vladimir Putin held a session with the leaders of the country's defense ministry. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of providing the Russian army with everything necessary to successfully fulfill its tasks as soon as possible.

Russia needs armed forces that guarantee the country's security "not tomorrow, but now." If the troops do not have everything that other military powers have, "our efforts will be wasted," Putin said.

This year has shown that the work for reconsidering the threats was timely, the President emphasised. "International terrorism is becoming a factor of global politics," the Russian leader stated.

He also charged the Defense Ministry with tightening the control over the spending of the funds received from the federal budget. "Unfortunately, the Defense Ministry still sometimes does not know where the funds are allocated," the President added.
