UN Wants Multicultural Kosovo

Kofi Annan called for a multi-ethnic province of Kosovo to be set up with religious and ethnic tolerance taking the place of violence and mistrust.

Kofi Annan visited a village inhabited mainly by Albanians, who presented him with a load of bread, a traditional Albanian custom, accompanied by the words “buke e zeme” (bread and heart), meaning that if a house has bread to eat and warm hearts, it is a happy one. It is this climate that the UNO is trying to instil in the citizens of this province which for seven centuries lived in peace, until external elements began to foment ethnic and religious hatred.
