23 international accounting standards to be enacted in Russia by 2004

23 international accounting standards will be used in Russia since thebeginning of 2004, Deputy Premier of the Russian Federation, FinanceMinister Alexey Kudrin declared after a session of a government commissionresponsible for the process of introducing international accountingstandards in our country. This means that seven new standards will be addedto existing 16 in Russia, the official stressed.According to Kudrin, a special report will be prepared with recommendationsconcerning the main problems that Russia may incur in the process ofenacting new standards by October 15. It is supposed to be discussed by thecommission in the last decade of October. .
