Rostelecom reports revenues from long distance telecommunications services

Rostelecom's revenues generated by the company's domestic long distancetelecommunications services grew 40 percent in the first half of this yearto RUR4.182bn (around $132.76m). As the company's press service reported,Rostelecom's revenues from its subscribers rose 14 percent to RUR1.581bn(around $50.19m), while the company's revenues from operators increased 64percent to RUR2.601bn (around $82.57m). The company's revenues fromregional operators rose 78 percent, which is due to a 15 percent increasein the company's traffic and an average increase of 56 percent inRostelecom's tariffs. For the first time in many years Rostelecom posted arise in incoming international long distance traffic: up 3.5 percent fromthe figure reported in the first half of last year. Rostelecom'sinternational long distance traffic was 426m minutes in the first half ofthis year. A decrease in Rostelecom's revenues from international operatorswas 4 percent, which is due to a drop in international tariffs, while thecompany's payments to international operators went down by 8.4 percentagainst the figure reported in the first half of last year. .
