Central Bank releases data on Russian exports and imports in July 2002

Russian imports were $5.446bn in July 2002, an increase of 23 percent ascompared to the figure reported in the corresponding period last year,according to the Russian foreign trade review published by the Foreign andPublic Relations Department of the Russian Central Bank. As compared toJanuary 2002, the volume of products imported by Russia rose by $1.764bn inJuly 2002, and by $644m as compared to May 2002. Russia imported productsfrom foreign countries to the total amount of $4.346bn (up 25.8 percentfrom the similar period last year). Russia's imports from the countries ofthe Commonwealth of the Independent States (CIS ) were $1.1bn in July 2002,an increase of 13.1 percent from the similar period last year..
