Party established by Duma speaker holds constituent assembly

A constituent assembly of a party established by Gennady Seleznyov, the speaker of State Duma (the lower chamber of parliament), has been launched in Moscow.

There are 700 delegates participating in the event. When opening the assembly, Gennady Seleznyov proposed to name the organisation "Party for Russia's Resurrection." According to him, this name reflects the spirit of the organisation's objectives and is not associated with other left-wing parties of Russia.
