Surgutneftegaz reports business results for January-August of 2002

The Surgutneftegaz oil and gas company produced 32.148m tons of oil overeight months of 2002, which is 11.7 percent more compared to 2001, thecompany's press service reported to RosBusinessConsulting. Gas productionvolumes gained 16 percent in 2002 and reached 8.7bn cubic meters. Drillingvolumes reached 1.961m meters, i.e. 113 percent against the first eightmonths of 2001. Exploratory drilling volumes went up 9 percent and amountedto 191,000 meters. 613 new oil wells were put into operation. .
